UP-PGH Anesthesiology residents bag first place in national quiz bee

The UP-PGH Department of Anesthesiology placed first on the recently concluded final rounds of the Tagisan ng Talino Quiz Contest: Itaktak Mo, Utak Mo! held at the Lung Center of the Philippines Auditorium last November 16, 2009.

The team, composed of Drs Karen Michelle G Aquino, Anna Margarita F Hilvano, Monace Zephyr S Sandalo, Chris Bryan V Sembrana, Karl Matthew C Sy Su and Karel Ann A Espejo, initially qualified in the elimination rounds held last June 13, 2009 at the Natrapharm conference room. Dr Cornelio A De La Paz served as the team’s adviser.

The group bested 15 other teams from different anesthesia training programs all over the country. University of Santo Tomas Hospital placed second while the Davao Medical Center, and National Kidney and Transplant Institutes tied for third place.
